The position of Associate Professor is the second most senior
position=20=

in the  Media and Communications Program. As Deputy Director the=20
appointee will be  expected to work alongside the Director in=20
day-to-day administration and  contribute significantly to continued=20
development including international student  recruitment,
postgraduate=20=

provision and research profile. The Associate  Professor may be asked=20
to occasionally serve as Acting Program Director. S/he  will also=20
contribute relevant expertise from the broad inter-disciplinary field=20
of  media and communications, teach at undergraduate and postgraduate=20
levels as  required, undertake research supervisions, and pursue=20
research grants.     The successful candidate will have established=20
research interests in international  communications and the=20
theorization of media and globalization. Regional  expertise and an=20
ability to teach in one or more of the following would be 
particularly=20=

welcome: Globalization and Media; Media Theory and Research  Methods;=20
Mediatized Conflicts; Development Communication; Media and  Everyday=20
Life. The successful candidate will be expected to share the Program=92s

commitment to high-quality teaching and methodologically informed=20
research; will  be experienced in teaching and supervising both=20
undergraduate and  postgraduate students; have engaged in curriculum=20
design and development;  and will have a significant track record of=20
relevant international research. The  incumbent will need to work=20
effectively as part of a team and help establish  productive links
with=20=

national and international media organizations and related  bodies.
