Apologies for cross postings Futuresonic 2006 ========================== Celebrating 10 years since the first Futuresonic festival The focus weekend of Futuresonic 2006 is 20-23 July 2006 Programme announced soon http://www.futuresonic.com Overview ========================== The festival will take place across the city of Manchester and feature the following strands FUTURESONIC LIVE Live music events across the city of Manchester INDEPENDENCE AND COLLABORATIVE CULTURES The 2006 theme looks at collaborative culture and independence movements in music, art and technology MY EVNT - THE DIY FESTIVAL A semi-open strand of independent events, featuring a competition for new and emerging events SOCIAL TECHNOLOGIES SUMMIT A new conference on social technologies new and old, from sound systems to blogging and web 2.0 PERVASIVE AND LOCATIVE ARTS NETWORK An exhibition and conference featuring interactive city walks, collaborative mapping, the urban environment as a digital canvas Participate ========================== How you can get involved in Futuresonic 2006 MY EVNT - THE DIY FESTIVAL Details on how to submit events and enter the EVNT Competition announced soon SOCIAL TECHNOLOGIES SUMMIT Further details on this new project announced soon OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS Each year Futuresonic invites project submissions. The first call for Futuresonic 2006 closed in October 2005. The second call is now open for projects that are funded and do not need financial assistance from Futuresonic.
