The program of the 25th anniversary edition of the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival (November 11 to 16, 2008) is now online available: www.filmladen.de/ dokfest
279 films and videos from 30 countries will be screened within six festival days; among them 111 are premieres. The exhibition MONITORING presents 17 media installations. The vernissage takes place on November 12 at 7 pm in the Kasseler Kunstverein. This year’s program is completed by the audiovisual live program in the DokfestLounge as well as the interdisciplinary conference interfiction. About 150 filmmakers and artists are expected to attend the festival for the presentation and discussion of their work(s).
On the occasion of our 25th jubilee the DVD “Most Touching” compiles the highlights of 25 years festival history. It's divided into three thematic blocks (Between Media, Between Space, Between Humans) and presents a collection of 33 films and videos. The DVD will be released on November 11.
Altogether 64 contributions out of the program will compete for the three prizes endowed with 10,000 Euro in prize money and the A38–Production Grant Kassel-Halle.
