Important Dates:
Submission: June 15, 2013, 23:59 US Pacific Time
Notification: June 28, 2013, 23:59 US Pacific Time
The purpose of the tutorials is to expand the knowledge of the AR/MR community and foster the next generation of AR/MR researchers, developers, and artists. Experts, pioneers, and experienced developers and artists are needed to propose and present tutorials that may target a specific application area, a specific research area, or a topic of general interest for mixed or augmented reality. Topics can range from introductory for AR/MR novices to highly technical for AR/MR researchers. Tutorials can be half or full day tutorials, depending on the scope of topics covered and the presenters available.
Tutorial Proposal Preparation Format and Instructions:
Abstract
Provide a brief summary of the proposed tutorial.
Motivation
Explain why ISMAR attendees would be interested in attending this tutorial. Why is this a difficult, overlooked, or misunderstood topic? Explain how an increased knowledge of this subject will advance mixed and augmented reality
Target Audience
Describe what population this tutorial is targeted towards (e.g., students, industry professionals, everyone).
Outline of Tutorial
Include the order of topics and approximate time for each topic. For example:
1. Topic A: 1.5 hours
1.1. Subtopic 1
1.2. Subtopic 2
1.3. …
2. Topic B: 1.5 hours
2.1. Subtopic 1
2.2. Subtopic 2
2.3. …
Learning Objectives
What skills and concepts attendees can expect to learn? Also, describe how you will evaluate learning
Form of Presentation
Describe how you will present the information (e.g. lecture with Power Point slides, video, activities)
Expected # of attendees
1) How many attendees can you accommodate based on the form of presentation and your personal preferences.
2) If you have taught this tutorial before, where and when was it taught and approximately how many attendees were there.
Publicizing Tutorials
The conference committee will advertise the tutorial though the conference publicity materials. Please describe other potential ways to publicize your tutorial (e.g., e-mail lists, social networking, etc). Please be specific.
Presenter Bios and Contact Information for Presenters
Please provide a short written bio that demonstrates the presenters’ background that qualifies them to present the tutorial. List several relevant publications. Please include contact information (e-mail, phone, affiliation)
