---------------------------------------------------- BOSNIAN INSTITUTE, London ----------------------------------------------------- NEWS UPDATE, March 2000 ----------------------------------------------------- http://www.bosnia.org.uk ---------------------------------------------------- BOSNIAN INSTITUTE EVENT Monday, 3 April 2000: Mark Thompson "The real goals of international policy in the former Yugoslavia" The Bosnian Institute's Monthly Public Forums are held on the first Monday of every month except August (or the second Monday, if the first is a Bank Holiday). Meetings take place in the Boardroom, University of Westminster, 309 Regent Street, London, W1 from 7 to 9 PM. Closest underground station: Oxford Circus. Mark Thompson, the journalist and writer, is the author of A Paper House: the ending of Yugoslavia (1992) and Forging the War: the media in Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina (new edition 1999). He worked for four years in Croatia for the UN and the OSCE and has recently competed a report for the latter on international organizations and media reform. His 20 November 1999 op-ed in the International Herald Tribune was one of the first authoritative articles in the mainstream press arguing from a pro-Bosnian position that the Dayton Peace Agreement is unworkable. ----------------------------------------------------- http://www.bosnia.org.uk _______________________________________________ Nettime-bold mailing list [email protected] http://www.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-bold
