Michael Mandiberg welcomes AfterMichaelMandiberg.com, but I am curious.

The Walker Evans project is clear to me. He pointed a camera at people and
places and the camera recorded what was in front of it. So, the Walker Evans
photograph is an index of what Walker Evans selected to be in front of it.

The Sherrie Levine project is also clear to me. She pointed a camera at an
art market dominated by great (in the Modern sense) male artists and the
camera recorded what was in front of it. So, the Sherrie Levine photograph
is a symbol of the social conditions that confronted Sherrie Levine.

The Michael Mandiberg project is also very clear, but I would not presume to
describe it when Michael can do so much better. I find it interesting that
the images on his site are icons of and resemble both Sherrie Levine images
and Walker Evans images, but because of our knowledge and their condition
have very different connotations and commercial value.

What is the Kendall Bruns project? What is the Badur Ramji project? What is
added to the series of appropriations and different statements?
