<nettime> apple -os x -the big brother? |
apple got into the scene with the 1984 ad - demolishing the big brother. now it's time for apple to be the big brother. anybody has installed the os x ? - it came out march 24. you don't have root access to your machine in either mac extended file system or unix file system (supposedly the developer's version). if you install your os while you're on an active network, and send your profile to apple - the required process to sign up, you will be denied access to your machine if you try to install the second time, even the installation is smooth. and you as the one who install the os, don't even have permission to modify any file in root directory, you are not given root or wheel permission when you install the system as the admin. apple is watching you. z # distributed via <nettime>: no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a moderated mailing list for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: [email protected] and "info nettime-l" in the msg body # archive: http://www.nettime.org contact: [email protected]
