<nettime> the Styrian Oak in California

In Graz , Austria, Arnold was known as the Styrian Oak. Mike Davis'
rant about what caused him to sink his roots so deeply here in
California is so full of vitriol (like some of V.S. Naipul's angry
writing) that it is as imbalanced as Rodger Hedgecock's AM radio
chatter. Mike Davis would have done better to look at the role that Jay
Leno played.

The reasons people voted is such high numbers were many, and not just
because they were affluent Hummer drivers who had paid a huge new
vehicle fee.

One student at University of California said he was voting for Arnie so
that his name would be on his diploma when he graduated in 2004.

The Bush people are worried about Arnie; he's far too moderate for most
of them.

Trivia question: what feature film had two future U.S. state governors?
The answer is on page 59.
