Hi, Just forwarding an interesting article about Linux in Brasil. The article doesn't really offer any new information but I find it interesting as it offers a fair appraisal of 'free' ('as in operating system') http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3445805.stm I also enjoy the statement : "The xenophobic mentality in Brazil actually is what drives people towards open source software in some cases." :) adam Adam Hyde [email protected] r a d i o q u a l i a http://www.radioqualia.net Free as in 'media' current: http://www.radio-astronomy.net work: The Streaming Suitcase Streaming Media Consultant # distributed via <nettime>: no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a moderated mailing list for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: [email protected] and "info nettime-l" in the msg body # archive: http://www.nettime.org contact: [email protected]
