Half true. Yes, newspapers etc were one medium for many, but that does not
mean that the individual humans were eliminated. The individual humans did
become a group. One newspaper for all did create some sort of common
reality.

Today there is a tendency that everybody gets his own version. Commercials
are special etc, one day they know your political opinion and will serve
you special articles that may fit "better", the group has gone. Maybe it
was lame to have one commercial for all, but that certain common reality is
disapearing. There is less common ground for political action, discussions,
talk.
