This particular war was lost when the 'rebellious' bought into the consumer
convenience paradigm and tried to confront the consummerism with its own
tools.  Suckers.

If ease of use, simplicity and minimizing the burn of brain cycles are
indeed paramount and defining parameters, then we shall live in convenient
and controlled world.

The only 'better' way is accepting and agreeing to the inconvenient,
complicated, unfriendly and hard to use. 

There is no middle ground.

This is, above all, an ideological conflict.

Within it, the 'rebellious' have been beaten into the ground and then
sodomized for a good measure. The resistance appears limited to sphincter
control.
