there are modicums of violence that are taking place as a direct
result of anyone using a technology dependent on extractives and the
social systems required for their utilization. the obvious sites of
violence happen to be distal to most systems that are occupied by art
consumers and producers, but the cumulative effect is not dissimilar
to the destructive force of a explosive device.

hyper-socialization could be described as the process by which these
globe-spanning distributed webs of violence become the normative basis
for daily local existence by anesthetized participants who play with
their toys and want to show everyone what they've made in hopes of
getting a pat on the head from the profit-takers who themselves are at
a distant remove from human presence.

personally, I find connections between all phenomena and
manifestations, but if you wish to remain in a materialist
object-oriented world severed from itself, sure, it is easy enough to
say that there are no connections.

maybe the final question is where do the profits from
publicly-manifest art come from and where do they go?
