Just to clarify - The Italian Pavilion does not coincide with the big
building in the middle of the Giardini, where the Tintorettos were
shown. That building (the former Italian Pavilion) is usually used for
the main biennale show (in this case Illuminations, curated by Bice
Curiger), while Italy's national participation, curated by Vittorio
Sgarbi (that is the atrocity exhibition mentioned by Patrice and
criticized by Le Monde) is at the end of the Arsenale.
