Re: <nettime> artistic director of dOCUMENTA 13 welcomes occupy movement

This hug of the 'movement' is surely a good stroke and it re-claims
the Joseph Beuys-style Greenness in double meaning: don't be violent,
believe in the German native soil, be a good democrat, clean up your
waste, shut up and discuss nothing but your enraged citizenship, plant
some trees and money is bad but good at the same time. By the way
this marketing trick is known in Kassel since weeks and nothing new
at all, as the dOCUMENTA 13 occupies nearly all social life in town!
But funny, no politician ever showed up there at Friedrichsplatz. It
is outlaws and loosers who go there, and of course the art audience.
70% of the day in these camps goes on organising simplest things
like water supply, cooking and sanitariness. The rest is protecting
the tents full of iPhones, ghetto blasters and rests of cash against
junkies, drunk and tourists.

It's been said that some bankers in Frankfurt/Main pay (!) occupiers
there for staying -- the perfect paradox? The perfect indignation
of pure moral. As long as the so called d13 (and Biennale in Berlin
etc.) plays open space democracy all will be fine while local VW in
Kassel and Mercedes play global. Though this view on companies and the
standpoint of a redistribution of wealth -- which is the background
for this -- in fact is the reductionism that helps Germany (the eye
and motor of European debts and austerity hurricane) to be considered
as constitutional democracy. This may be the post-democratic issue
here.
