We decided to release it now, although the situation totally changed since that moment of (almost) global insurrection, because we think it is important to build a bridge between what's happening now and what was happening just a few months ago.

It is important because the human LAVA still boils under the nonhuman LAVA which is the COVID-19 virus, itself a form of a-signifying a-subjective form of resistance to a system which continues to show all its limits and structural cracks - cracks that before the pandemic, people worldwide were addressing with a force possibly unseen in contemporary history.


We're now preparing the second number of LAVA, to address the role of non-human forces as political vectors, and to understand COVID-19 in its ecological and political complexity...
