<nettime> Re: Mongolia transport

In 1997 the first wireless connections reached the horse people. Almost
eight centuries after their last invasion of the Eurasian plane, nomadic
pools had again the chance to receive signals from the old war sites.
Satellite dishes and computer screens were shipped to the farms - all
adorned with pink ribbons and rimmed with thousand small mirrors; through
them, the spirits were talking about weather forecast, stock rates and
cattle breeding, but also about more.

The yourtas got connection to a new and almost endless maze of inviting
light paths. Mice were jumping by themselves in the hand of the Drummer,
showing where the next campaign should hit. Net war was faster than cavalry
war, and more fun in terms of logistics. While in the old times invasions
meant feeding millions of battle horses in a foreign territory, exhausted
after a while, the slash & burn method imposed by the Mongol hackers proved
to be a strange method of stimulation through control. Like in a productive
nightmare, the electronic tissues looted and destroyed were growing back,
faster and richer, and even more open to pillage and destruction. This war
lasted 45 years. It still goes on.
