actually rereading my response to jtravis i really wish i hadn't posted
it. i thought 'who's this twat' and realised it was me. my apologies to
jtravis and anyone else offended thereby. i don't think i know what i
think.

the moral of the story is not to write about war in a hurry

to be honest i have fallen into the trap of long bouts of complete
inability to take any interest whatsoever in the war punctuated by short
bursts of petty sophomoric point-scoring motivated by some kind of
powerful guilt at the fact that i don't seem to be able to formulate any
kind of coherent view about this situation. the conspiracy theorist in
my head says that this is all part of the grand NATO strategy but that's
just the conspiracy theorist and i don't listen to him much any more.
i'll shut up now. promise.
