[Nettime-nl] ijurr virtual issue on amsterdam |
Subject: ijurr virtual issue on amsterdam From: "Roger Keil" <[email protected]> Date: Mon, June 20, 2011 19:04 To: [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear colleaguesWe are delighted to tell you about the first "virtual issue" of IJURR. For some time we have been considering packaging collections of articles published in IJURR for special occasions. The forthcoming RC21 conference in Amsterdam (7-9 July, see http://www.rc21.org/conferences/amsterdam2011/) prompted us to take the plunge. On the new IJURR website (www.ijurr.org ) you will see, under "Latest News") a link to the virtual issue. It includes thirteen articles published in IJURR over the past ten years, beginning with Talja Blokland's 2001 article on place identities in Amsterdam and concluding with Jamie Peck's forthcoming article (available on EarlyView) on Amsterdam as a 'recreative city'. Talja has also written a short introduction to the issue. The articles are all freely available. If you are attending the conference, don't miss the IJURR-hosted "dialogue" between AbdouMaliq Simone and Mike Savage, on innovative methods in urban studies, on the morning of Friday 8th July. For the IJURR Editorial Team -- Roger Keil Professor York University
