NIFCA LOOKING FOR NEW CURATORS 

NIFCA, Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art, based in
Helsinki, Finland, seeks new curators that want to
engage in a dynamic team that explores and develops
new expressions for contemporary visual culture. The
position is time-limited.

WHO ARE YOU? 

You are an artist/art historian/critic or have another
valuable background for the job
You are up to date with contemporary theory,
interested and used to connect it with practice in
collaboration with others
You are interested in developing projects that
investigate sociopolitical questions and artistic
narration
You have the ability to transform contemporary
contexts to what best suits the situation - be it
exhibition, workshop, seminar, publication or
something else - and you are interested in making
synergies possible between them, players and audiences
You have a facility for expressing yourself in writing
and in speech
You are used to project management, both content and
budget
You work individually and you are independent, as well
as, you are open for dialogue with colleagues and your
surroundings, developing new experimental practices
for exhibitions and curatorial work
You work in the Nordic countries and/or have an
extensive network among players within contemporary
visual culture in the Nordic countries as well as
internationally


WHAT IS NIFCA? 

NIFCA is the Nordic Council of Ministers' expert organ
for visual culture, architecture and design.

NIFCA is a laboratory for developing:
- experimental exhibition forms
- curatorial practices 
- public activity
- artist-in-residency programs
- critical discourse

Projects are developed in processes in close
collaboration with diverse players within the field -
artists, curators, critics, the public, institutions,
organizations, educational centers and others. 

The projects weave together theory and practice in
close contact with developments within the aesthetic
and socio-political arts field in which we are
included.
