[Nettime-ro] Exhibition opportunity at Mid Pennine Gallery |
Exhibition period: 6th December 2008 to 31st January 2009 at Mid Pennine Gallery Application deadline: Wednesday 24th September 2008 This opportunity is open, but not limited to, visual arts. In the current climate of regeneration, there are plans to develop a site in Burnley, known as The Weavers Triangle. Mid Pennine Arts will be playing a role in the development of the area and as such we would like to hear from artists who would be interested in engaging with and creating work based around the documentation of the site prior to the development. Our aim is to commission up to four artists working in different media culminating in a group exhibition within the gallery. The Weaver?s Triangle consists of a legacy from the Industrial Revolution in the form of a number of old and derelict mills, warehouses and disused sites along the Leeds and Liverpool canal. East Lancashire was the birth place of the Industrial Revolution and 19th Century Burnley was at the heart of the textile, coal and iron industries. As such the Weaver?s Triangle is ?one of the finest surviving Victorian industrial landscapes in the country.? Fee: £400 plus travel and hospitality Proposal: Please send a letter of interest outlining how you would engage with the site, your artist statement, CV and a CD of titled images from previous work, to Emma Midgley, Gallery Coordinator, Mid Pennine Arts, Yorke Street, Burnley, BB11 1HD Contact: [email protected] http://www.midpenninearts.org.uk/exhibiting.htm Mid Pennine Gallery brings contemporary visual arts exhibitions and events to audiences in East Lancashire and further a field, exhibiting work of national and international significance. _______________________________________________ Nettime-ro mailing list [email protected] http://www.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-ro --> arhiva: http://amsterdam.nettime.org/
