/ pentru limba romana mergeti mai jos PRESS RELEASE Brief Final Report BUCHAREST BIENNALE 4 May 21st â July 25th 2010 Handlung. On Producing Possibilities Sunday, July 25th 2010, BUCHAREST BIENNALE 4 - Bucharest International Biennial for Contemporary Art - curated by Felix Vogel (n. 1987), entitled "Handlung. On Producing Possibilities", has closed after more than 8 weeks, during which it has enjoyed an unprecedented success for a Romanian contemporary art event. BUCHAREST BIENNALE has gained throughout the years an international reputation and its last edition has expressed the potential for development of this type of artistic event. BB4 has been composed of the main exhibition, parallel and simultaneous events, an epilogue-exhibition at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Stockholm and lectures. 37 artists from 17 countries have participated, 21 works being produced especially for the biennial. BB4 took place in 7 locations, 6 for the main exhibition and one for the accompanying lectures. Felix Vogel has officially became the youngest biennial curator in the history of art. The research and selection process, as well as preparing theoretical texts took 2 years. The average age of the BB4 team is 22,5 years, the team comprising 6 employees and 22 volunteers and interns. The biennial attracted more media attention than any of the previous editions. Thus, at the opening press conference over 370 professionals and press participated, both national and international. The biennial was featured by over 110 publications, news agencies, radio and TV stations, blogs, such as Frieze, FlashArt, Artforum, e-flux, Art Agenda, Euronews, The Economist, Vogue Italy, Kunstzeitung, Artnet, Afterall, Springerin, Radical Philosophy, Cabinet, ARTMargins, Cura. Magazine, Camera Austria, Mute, ArtPapers, Open, Vicious Vitamins, Kaleidoscope, Goteborgs Posten, TVR Cultural, The Diplomat, Cotidianul, Adevarul, Gandul, Dilema Veche, Arhitectura, 9AM News, MediaFax, Jurnalul National, Curentul, Elle Romania, B-24-Fun, Zile si Nopti, Modernism.ro, Alternativ.ro, Metropotam.ro, Veiozaarte, TimeOut and many others. BB4 had a higher number of visitors than the previous edition, this time being viewed by over 58.000 people. PAVILION - journal for politics and culture - published a special issue, having a total of 540 pages and containing texts written by renowned theoreticians such as Chantal Mouffe, Peter Osborne, Antonio Negri, Bruno Latour, Hito Steyerl, Daniel Beland, Julia Brotea, Maria Muhle, Doina Petrescu, Reinhold Martin or Ludger Schwarte. In the same time a guide was published with 240 pages as a instrument for visiting the exhibition. The biennial website and the Facebook page have had more than 70.000 viewers from 73 countries, during the event. The BB4 budget was 842.000 Euro. BB4 had as main sponsor Pilsner Urquell, being also supported by UniCredit Tiriac Bank. Among the institutions that have contributed to the financing of BB4 were the Austrian Cultural Forum, Danish Arts Council, IFA Berlin, IASPIS, Ministerio da Cultura, Fundacao Calouste Gulbenkian, dgARTES, OCA, Dutch Embassy, Seacex, French Embassy, Romanian Cultural Institute, Rumanska Kulturinstitutet Stockholm, Romanian Cultural Institute New York etc. Respecting tradition, the Ministry of Culture refused supporting BB4. On Producing Possibilities Duminica, 25 iulie 2010, BUCHAREST BIENNALE 4 - Bienala Internationala de Arta Contemporana Bucuresti - curatoriata de Felix Vogel (n. 1987), cu titlul "Handlung. On Producing Possibilities", s-a inchis dupa mai mult de 8 saptamani, timp in care s-a bucurat de un succes fara precedent pentru un eveniment romanesc de arta contemporana. Bucharest Biennale a capatat in decursul ultimilor ani o reputatie internationala, iar ultima editie a exprimat potenÅialul de crestere a acestei forme de intalnire artistica. BB4 s-a compus din expozitia principala, evenimente paralele si simultane, o expozitie-finisaj la Institutul Cultural Roman de la Stockholm, dezbateri si conferinte. Au participat 37 de artisti din 17 tari, 21 de lucrari fiind produse special pentru bienala. BB4 s-a desfasurat in 7 locatii, 6 pentru expozitia principala si 1 pentru conferintele conexe. Felix Vogel a devenit oficial cel mai tanar curator de bienala din istoria artei. Cercetarea, selectia artistilor si pregatirea textelor teoretice s-au desfasurat pe parcursul a 2 ani. Varsta medie a echipei BB4 este de 22,5 ani, aceasta cuprinzand 6 angajati si 22 de voluntari si interni. Bienala a atras mai multa atentie media decat oricare dintre editiile precedente. Astfel la conferinta de presa dedicata deschiderii bienalei au participat peste 370 de reprezentanti media si profesionisti din tara si din strainatate. Bienala a fost reflectata de peste 110 de publicatii, agentii de stiri, posturi de radio si televiziune, bloguri, precum Frieze, FlashArt, Artforum, e-flux, Art Agenda, Euronews, The Economist, Vogue Italy, Kunstzeitung, Artnet, Afterall, Springerin, Radical Philosophy, Cabinet, ARTMargins, Cura. BB4 a beneficiat de un numar mai mare de vizitatori fata de editia precedenta depasind cifra de 58.000. Pentru aceasta editie a fost editat un numar special bilingv din PAVILION - journal for politics and culture - cu 540 de pagini continand texte scrise de teoreticieni de marca precum Chantal Mouffe, Peter Osborne, Antonio Negri, Bruno Latour, Hito Steyerl, Daniel Beland, Julia Brotea, Maria Muhle, Doina Petrescu, Reinhold Martin sau Ludger Schwarte. De asemenea a fost editat un ghid al bienalei cu 240 pagini. Website-ul bienalei si pagina de Facebook au adunat peste 70.000 de vizitatori provenind din 73 de tari, in perioada desfasurarii evenimentului. Bugetul BB4 a fost de 842.000 Euro.
