The IPTC Subject Reference system is not part of NewsML per se but will
form one of its controlled vocabularies. The scheme has been published
for some time and is designed for use with different news formats.
The subject detail areas have only been extended when input has been
received from our members or from a non -member via a sponsor member. To
date there have been no proposals for Subject Detail under AC&E. If you
intend to produce such a list then it will be given due consideration.
Media is also under EB&F for use when financial reporting of media
rather than media content is being covered.
