A message of solidarity with Brian I have send on 40 addresses. I am
interested about solidarity with Antonio, who is our man, even more, it is
me. 

Dear, respected

welcome to a project "E, solidarite". Its goal is in determining the level
of solidarity between Croats, as in country, as out of it. The project
predominantly refers to people, that on this or the other way are working
with arts and culture, and art in the media. Because the author of the
project (signed down) is an artist and journalist, he is interested how the
solidarity of the people from that branch is with ones in troubles. More
concrete: with me! 

Today it is me, tomorrow someone else. From where to start, if not from
oneself?!! And to how to address if not to you? I think I am in the worst
financial and existential situation than all of you I am addressing to, as
for this or that (in our milieu) you know. Already for two and a half year I
am unemployed and without any income, for already months! I survive thanks
to unselfish assisting of my employed sister, my mother (who is a
house-wife) and father (an pensioner with a minimum pension). With us is
living my sister's daughter. There are five of us, so, in troubles, because
when the one is in troubles, the others are too.
But solidarity is not in question! How is the solidarity among people that
are not in a blood but in spiritual relation? That is what I am interested
in. From collected sources and your works (on the topic UNEMPLOYMENT AND
SOLIDARITY IN THE AGE OF VIRTUALITY) I am going to set the exhibition in
Split, if I collect enough of contribution by sponsors an don the Internet.
I would like to open it on 6th March 2001. on my own birthday. And I expect
from you benevolent money contributions because I need them mostly, then
your works, in all media, including textual and music. On the exhibition I
would deliver statistical data on collaborators of project and collected
resources. For example: how many of calls I sent and who many of people
called up, how many of support I got, how many from Croatia, how many from
the world, how many man, how many woman etc. Names of those that didn't
reply to my call are not going to be stated, neither in initials, but are
going to be denoted in numbers (statistically). As well the wish of those
who want to be anonymous donators is going to be keep, as well as omitting
the level of sent contribution, according to the will.

Warning: all recorded and resigned traveling tv-shows I done without a kuna
of honorarium! Those were the times. All travels and exhibitions were
sponsored, and small amounts I would spend on the realization of those
projects. All video-film I made and directed on my own account, with the
free montage of Toni Dropulic. Meanwhile split ATV emitted 40 minute music
video film "Leningrad cowboys go into a Prague" in December 2000, and as
well without a kuna of honorarium. Few days an exhibition "Meter square"
finished I also contributed. I managed to sell two T-shirts (with my slogans
and design of Florian Kliskic Floka), both for 150 kunas. Computer on which
I write this is, lets be clear, property of my own niece.

I am not the member of any political party. I don't have any properties. I
am not married. I don't drive a car. I don't have a rich cousin in America.
I am not prosecuted. I don't drink, I don't use drugs. I don't know what to
say...

P.S.. Musicians, writers, and poor artists, I assume your reaction is going
to be: "What is happening to this one, he asks for help from us, and we
don't have enough.!? Why he does it, nevertheless? Because the solidarity
among poor (in problems, pushed on the margin, not accepted) is what to them
(or us) is most needed! WE are not going to solidarize with rich?! And what
is going to happen to us if we are not solidare among us, on acts, not only
on words?! 

I remember words of one prophet: "the word is going to decline when the
flowers loose smell with a good act". You probably noticed the flowers
already lost the smell. Take the roses on the Split's market and you' ll see
where the world arrived.

Further more, this project is going to have reflection in the public and
media (you know I know to do that) and is going with a force of the example
act well on the surround. It is going to open a deep problem of the
society, make public more sensible, and imply the conscious of the problem
for acting solidarity.

Finally, did the time to be sensitive on problems of individuals in
troubles, not only collected troubles arrived?!

WE still didn't have the concert whose all income would go to someone who is
existentially in problems because of unemployment. Only in split there is 50
000 of unemployed while Croatia has more than 400 000! Does a man need to
have a cancer or step on the mine so he is going to have some charity
action?! 

At the end, why are we not going to give a first good example in that
direction? I am making this project, participate in it...

P.S.. according to today's reaction, all negative (except one!) there is no
reaction (ignoring), and I realized a need to writing this sentence more. Of
course I expect your symbolic contribution is going to make my wallet fatter
(I am not a dreamer !) but I expect that the value of your works is going to
be bigger than the one of monetary contributions!. With out your money, I
would have, as now, what to eat, as I had by now, but without your works
what can I have on the exhibition?!
