In the Realm of Freedom

YYZ Artist's Outlet (1087 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ont. Canada, M6J 1H3

is seeking submission for an exhibition on reflection on the idea of
freedom. The show will run in conjunction with the Freedom of Expression
Festival scheduled for late fall 1996. Topics might include:
* censorship and self-censorship
* transgressing boundaries and borders
* the limits of freedom
* the tensions between community and individual rights
* the expreience of freedom
* the politics of freedom
* freedom and death

Submissions for visual arts, installations and time-based work include:
* currriculum viate
* artist's statement/ proposal
* self-adrdressed, stamped envelope for return of submission package
* for visual artists 15-20 slides (numbered) with corresponding list
indicating title, medium, size and dates of works. Please mark each slide
with a red dot in the lower left corner with your name.
* for time-based submissions: videotapes may be submitted in either 3/4" or
1/2" VHS format; if at all possible, we request that films be sent dubbed
to videotape for preview purposes. Do not send videotapes in fibre
cushioned envelopes; the fibres damage the tapes.

Deadline: June 1, 1996.
