Syndicate: Piramedia, Tirana - update

Dear friends,

after the congestion on the electronic superhighway to Sweden, we are happy
to be able to see some good progress on the road winding down to
Tirana/Albania. I think we can now safely say that the Piramedia
Festival/Syndicate Meeting is going to happen from 28 - 31 May 1998.

There is support from the Albanian Ministry of Culture, and the Soros
Foundation is expected to take a decision at the end of April. It would
help if everybody who wants to come to Tirana could let me <[email protected]>
and Edi Muka know <[email protected]>, so that we can include you in the
list of international participants that Edi will present.

The deal is the same for everybody - all are welcome, but you will have to
arrange your own travel. Accommodation will be arranged locally, and formal
invitations can be sent by the Culture Ministry on request.

The Piramedia programme will consist of a series of presentations, talks
and screenings for the local audience. The Syndicate meeting will include
theoretical and practical discussions, and some excursions into
neighbouring cities and the Albanian countryside.

The current list of participants in this skipetarian spring excursion looks
as follows:

- Andreas Broeckmann (V2_)
- Adele Eisenstein (C3)
- Eric Kluitenberg (MEDIA-GN/DeWaag)
- Stephen Kovats (ostranenie)
- Piotr Krajewski (WRO)
- Geert Lovink (universalist)
- Diana McCarty (MRF)
- Iliyana Nedkova (FACT/SCA Sofia)
- [nn from Skopje] (perhaps Melentie Pandilovski) (SCCA Skopje)

and possibly:
- Inke Arns (mikro)
- Charles Esche (FACT)
- Lisa Haskel (ACE)
- Sandra Kuttner (independent)
- Branka Milicic Davic (CyberNS)
- Dejan Sretenovic (SCCA Belgrade)
- [who from Ljubljana?]

Again, we want YOU to join this Deep European Syndicate meeting and invite
immediate self-invitations. as it is the Christian Witsun weekend, flights
are getting booked out fast and you may want to book your's soon. Malev
seem to offer the best rates, via Budapest.

Best wishes, and see you there,

-a
