about yr dramatic call of the first of april

i tell you that i made circulate yr message within my friends
and i've seen them shaking like the windows of yr house...

here the bridge is still alive luckily, so that someone (frankie)
translated yr message and someoene (valentina) read it today afternoon from
a float, during the demonstration held in rome against the war... 

the reading was really emotional because this float was shooting
techno-music and sounds of war most of the time... then we decided to stop
the music and to read yr mail in italian... it was heard from dozens of
people and made all of us FEELING something, beyond the every-day sense of
isolation and individual disperation...

the demo was quite big (60-80.000 people i would say) and was promoted by
Acli (federated catholic associations), Arci (leftist cultural-ricreative
associations), the left wing of the comunist party, some squatted comunity
centers and a lot of people that just decided to protest personally...

over the month of april there's a schedule of national demonstrations in
Rome any saturday, and some others (next friday for istance) in front of
Aviano and Gioia del Colle...

the risk of a fall of the italian government is skipped at the moment: the
right wing of the comunist party decided to mantain the support to the
government in order "to condition it from inside, to achive the peace as
soon as possible"... 
i find this position scandalous for a comunist party -- our government is
in fact at the moment TOTALLY ILLEGAL, according to the Italian
Constitution, that clearly states within the fundamental principles -- Art.
11 -- that "Italy repudiates the war as a means of resolution of
international controversies" --  

neverthless, the alternative is to leave the country in the hand of the
fascist and the neo-liberist that have no doubts at all about the necessity
of bombing and possibly invading yr country...

in the last week centralized media has been more interventist than what it
seemed to be at the beginning... the overwhelming images of the river of
refugees are changing the mind of many people that at the beginning weren't
so convinced about the necessity of the conflict... on the other hand we
don't have images and clear informations from serbia, so that the only
victims seems to be the albanians of kosovo...

a last note, i find DISGUTING all the process of projection of the personal
inner ghosts on the enemy...

 the german government is obsessed with this term "genocide"... probably
they want to cross the century showing to the international comunity that
the germans have not been the only to do what thay did... if you have
problems with yr past -- and yr present -- resolve them by yrself instead
of removing and addressing the others...

the turkish government (!) strongly condemn all the operation of ethnic
cleansing... (no words for it)

the french government has retired, just few days ago, a law about the
genocide of the armenians, acted by the turks in 1915... 

the day after, the turkish government decided to readmit the
french-german elycopters anti-guerrilla to a competition in which all the
western countries -- from USA to Italy -- are presenting their very
progressive, illuminated models... 

and they talk us about democracy contrapposed to the "serbian
dictatorship"... i laugh... with the stomach that never stops to  recoil
and the face definetly locked into an impossible grimace..
