Syndicate: Net connections tmhwked

I'm currently captured in one absolutely unreal situation...

I'm sitting in front of my computer, listening to Radiohead's
OK Computer (currently song number 10: No Suprises) and trying to
write a piece of e-mail... while outside, I can hear very loud
detonations and heavy anti-aircraft gun fire. Right now...

I feel like I'm in the middle of Terminator 2's intro scene
(when Linda Hamilton is explaining the war between humans and
the machines). The sky is burning, the planes are flying over...

Anyway, I would like to say a few words about the Internet in
    Yugoslavia in these trouble days...

First of all, some reliable ground Internet connections are
broken. When second bridge in Novi Sad went down, one good
Internet connection (or to say: fiber-optic cable) was broken.

Second, when NATO devastated one building in the very centre of
    Belgrade, one Belgrade-based ISP's (bits.net) computer equipment
    was totally destroyed.

Third, there are at least two VSAT station equipped ISP's in
Belgrade (eunet.yu and beotel.yu). Only in case of total
devastation of Serbian Telecom infrastructure in Belgrade, this
outlet will become unusable (as well as regular phone lines).

Fourth, Radio B-92's Internet section (Opennet) went down
together with the radio station. Radio B-92's "cybeRex New
Media Lab" (cr.opennet.org) is closed and all running (Internet
related) projects are put on-hold (for an uncertain time period)
    or completely cancelled.

    ...

These were only the things I could remember while typing this
text. During the following week, I will try to dig some more
reliable and precise information about the Internet in Yugoslavia.

    Greetings,
