Syndicate: the wind changes, at least in Italy |
dear syndicalists i'm happy to announce that the winds of war are weaker and weaker at least in my country... so weak the evn the politicians are changing their sick-minds... yesterday the italian Parliament voted a statement that forces the government to ask for a UNILATERAL suspension of the bombardaments, in order to favourish a diplomatic initiative within the UN Security Council... and the serbian opposition t the Milosevic regime.. in the former debate, the President of the Government, Massimo D'Alema, said that it was impossible for the Government to ask for the unilateral suspension, without a previous decision taken collectively by all the NATO's members... but the final statement approved by the majority of the Parliament (with the support of the Comunist Party and the opposition of the right-wing coalition) stated clearly that the suspension of the bombings has to come BEFORE the eventual convocation of the Security Council. before the final vote, the government declared to accept the different position of the Parliament... this vote marks a real, irreversible passage about the italian position as regard the war... if the NATO doesn't accept this proposal, the government will be forced to declare its inability to proceed on the way of the peace... moreover different voices say that Milosevic has more and more problem to control the internal opposition to the war... (somebody has any direct or indirect information about it?)... and i think that this demonstrate that the people's feelings -- the last march for peace in Italy was really impressive (about 100.000 people marching for 28 km) -- are common, beyond the blindness of the respective King Lear... with love snafu ------Syndicate mailinglist-------------------- Syndicate network for media culture and media art information and archive: http://www.v2.nl/syndicate to unsubscribe, write to <[email protected]> in the body of the msg: unsubscribe [email protected]
