Seeking a highly motivated Video Artist for a full-time; tenure track
position with excellent benefits starting Fall 2000. Applicants
should possess: a strong portfolio, commitment to teaching, knowledge of
video art history,understanding of all aspects of analog
and digital video including video installation, digital cinema, compositing
and studio production. Experience with desktop video,
non-linear editing and web based applications is also required. MFA
strongly preferred.

The Department of Fine Arts in the Graduate School of Fine Arts of the
University of Pennsylvania is seeking candidates for three
full-time tenure-track positions, Assistant Professor of Painting,
Assistant Professor of Sculpture, and Assistant Professor of
Animation and Digital Media, beginning in fall 2000. Assistant Professor of
Painting candidates must have a Master of Fine Arts
degree in painting and be able to develop and teach undergraduate and
graduate courses in painting. Assistant Professor of
Sculpture candidates must have a Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture.

They must be able to lead the MFA Sculpture Program and teach at the
undergraduate level. They must possess a deep knowledge
of contemporary critical issues, and display a thorough foundation in
traditional and non-traditional sculpture media. Assistant
Professor of Animation and Digital Media candidates must have a Master of
Fine Arts degree in animation and design and be able to
teach at all levels traditional and digital animation techniques and
theory, and provide leadership in the digital and animation sectors.
General knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and software associated
with art, design, animation, and interactive media is
necessary. Storyboarding, narrative development and strategic concept
development are essential. Knowledge of the history of
animation is desirable.

Candidates for all positions must work with other faculty in program and
curriculum development, and with office and technical
support staff in the maintenance and development of facilities. They must
have a significant exhibition or professional record, and
three to five years of teaching experience at the university level (for the
Animation and Digital Media position, preferred
qualifications include college-level teaching and experience, and
professional animation production).
